In South West France as the west coast of France meets the Northern coast of Spain, you will begin to notice a change in the countryside, the people and the architecture. The Basques are very friendly and, whilst still speaking French, also have their own language. Biarritz, very close to the border with Spain, is a chic and fashionable resort with much fine architecture dating back from the 19thC . The Cote d'Azure, also known as the French Riveria, is well known as the haunt of high society with its Mediterranean location and weather. With lots of fascinating places to visit and explore.
